Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox born December 25 of 1954 in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name of her parents. Lennox was a flute, piano and harpsichord at the Royal Academy of Music London for three years during the 70s. She was able to survive on a student salary and part-time work to help supplement her income. Lennox was of the opinion that her talents weren't as good as those of the Royal Academy classmates. So she started thinking of other options she could pursue. Lennox started out as an instrument player with the group Dragons Playground. She quit the band prior to New Faces, the I.T.V. talent competition. Between 1977 and 1980 she was the vocalist in The Tourists. A British pop band from the UK. The band was where she met Dave Stewart and together they formed the duo Eurythmics. Lennox collaborated on her solo debut record Diva. The album was released in 1993. It was a massive hit both critically and commercially. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album debuted in October 2014. The C.D. is a selection of Lennoxs favourite soul jazz and blues tunes from her upbringing. Lepidoptera is a collection of four songs that were improvised by piano that Lennox has released in May 2019. This E.P. is a companion piece to her art installation at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled Now I Let You go... It's also her debut independently-released album. Annie Lennox was born in 1954 on December 25. She is a philanthropist, activist as well as a performer. The Tourists were a new-wave group that had some recognition in the 1970s. Then, she was joined by fellow singer-songwriter Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox's debut album in 1992 Diva was a huge success, featuring a variety of songs like Why, the World is Broken Glass. Medusa the album she released in 1995 has cover versions of songs including No MoreI I Love Yous andA Whiter Shade of Pale.
